Explore the fascinating world of coding through a vibrant art workshop for kids at the Darling Square Library Makerspace.
Creative Coding is a great way to introduce your kids to fundamental coding skills, where the goal is to make something expressive rather than functional.
In this beginner-level workshop, participants will use the magic of code to create printable artwork they can take home.
What you'll learn:
Our experienced facilitator Jared Berghold will guide you through coding to make your very own computer-generated artwork!
What you'll make and have access to:
All materials provided to create your artwork
Computing devices: high powered laptops
A hard copy postcard size (6' x 4') print of your artwork on photo paper to take home
Details:
Cost: $10 for each child (accompanying adults are free)
Bookings and class size: maximum 10 children - bookings essential
Suitable for: children aged 8 to 12 years
Experience level: suitable for beginners, basic keyboard skills recommended
About the facilitator: The workshop will be led by Jared Berghold. Jared is a creative coder who has been making art with code for over 15 years. Jared co-created the interactive artwork Always Coming, Always Going for Vivid Sydney in 2017 and later founded the Creative Coding Studio: www.creativecoding.studio

Eligibility for concession price: the ticket purchaser must hold a valid NSW pensioner, senior or full-time student card. Valid proof of concession to be shown in advance or in person at the workshop. If valid proof of concession is not provided, the full rate will be required to be paid.
Bookings can be cancelled up to 7 days before the date of the workshop. Cancellations made within 7 days of the course starting will not be refunded. See terms and conditions here.
