A Women's only safe space to retreat from the outer world and connect with your inner knowledge. We will drum, meditate and craft together.
An introduction to the medicine wheel and the associated directions will be shared. We will explore drums as a tool to enter the gateway of our inner stillness. Learn to play basic rhythms and experience shamanic drum journeys with shamanic (frame) drums. Take a small break from the busyness of the world and our own minds to be held, nurtured, and supported. Practice mindfulness, or rather mind-emptiness as you learn simple rhythms on a drum and enter the gateway into the timeless, flow space. Learn how to use the drum as a bridge from your monkey mind to the spaciousness within. Go deep with guided meditations and shamanic drum journeys. Learn how to connect to this stillness, embody it and bring into your own life.
BYO drum or hire one for $10 cash per day. Please bring $10 cash on the day.
Please also bring a yoga mat, small pillow & eye mask. If it's cold a blanket & warm stuff (i.e., socks & beanie/hoody layers to keep warm whilst experiencing lying down meditation).
Classes are held in Randwick Sustainable Classroom in Munda Street Reserve next to Randwick Community Centre. There is plenty of free parking. The closest bus stop is a 5 min walk away on the cnr of Bundock St & Hendy Ave.
