Football is the most widely played sport on the planet and one of the fastest-growing codes in Australia. The event was set up in 2019 by Magic United to bring senior players together for a festival of football on the Gold Coast. With the Gold Coast being such a tourist hotspot, having an abundance of hotels, tourist attractions and year-round sunshine it proved to be the perfect place to hold such an event annually. The unique way in which the tournament is set up allows lots of opportunity for players and travel companions to visit many of the attractions the Gold Coast has to offer. 4 teams took part in 2019. The 2020 event was postponed due to covid.

In 2022 - 16 teams will take part in the tournament, 32 matches are to be held over four days with each team playing four times, Allowing for the best to play the best as the tournament reaches its climax on Sunday. The event includes a family day to be held on Saturday in order to maximise the attendances over the period of the weekend with players and spectators having the opportunity to take in the sights of the Gold Coast.
