Purveyors of music and beer, Young Henrys, are teaming up with Waywards and local legends The Music and Booze Co. to announce Long Weekend Fest, a free multi-genre event taking over Newtown's Bank Hotel over the June long weekend.
Long Weekend Fest promises a frothy-fueled weekender with a killer Aussie lineup featuring Cool Sounds, Mickey Kojak, Billy Davis, BOY SODA, Leroy Macqueen, Middle Name Dance Band, and loads more.
Young Henrys will be offering sharp beer specials throughout the venue, with their G&T's flowing upstairs to ensure you and your mates are never without a drink all weekend long.
Saturday's billing schedule features the electronic pulse of AnSo. The South-Korean artist will bring the ever-evolving, experimental-hyper-pop sounds of her debut EP 'Farrago of Emotions' throughout the evening. Phoebe Baker aka Sappho is next to bring the heat to fans at Long Weekend Fest. With Middle Name Dance Band next up to storm the stage, expect nothing but a stand-out performance from the trio. Last but surely not least, is Australia's favourite producer-vocalist extraordinaire, Mickey Kojak. Making a name for himself through his funky bass lines and wonky electronic percussion, the dance floor will be shaking as the speakers pump out new upcoming single, 'Pull The Trigger' set for release June 3, as well as unreleased heaters from his soon to be released debut album _Ultra. _Ending the night on a high will be DJ Tropical Dave and DJ Tugg Speedman who will both be spinning funk, soul, disco, and dance tunes for the crowd.
Opening the Sunday Session is soul-funk ensemble Honeydrip, before emerging star and r&b-pop prowess of MUNGMUNG makes her way to the stage_. _The lineup continues with the hypnotic rhythms of Sydney-based artist BOY SODA. Headlining the night and keeping vibes high is Melbourne-based Billy Davis. Gaining international notoriety for his neo-soul grooves, outstanding piano playing ability, and collaborations with Brockhampton, Denzel Curry, and more, partygoers will be spellbound by his performance on Sunday night.
Drawing the hectic weekend to a close, Monday night's installment includes frontwoman of Sydney-based indie-rock band Motion Sickness, Maia Marsh before anti-folk rock'n'roller Mylee Grace rocks the stage. Bringing the long weekend to a close will be the self-described 'gender non-conforming cow folk-diva' Leroy Macqueen. Kicking tunes for 11 years as one half of wild garage punk duo The Gooch Palms, the alt-western crooner will have crowds on their feet with their country balladeering and distinct pipes.
Young Henrys has continued to 'serve the people' for the past decade. Championing Australia's most-loved artists, in one of Sydney's most iconic locations, bringing people together through good times and good beer. Don't miss your chance to attend this one-of-a-kind, multi-genre fest. Sign-up for tickets via the Young Henrys Facebook page to secure your tickets, to celebrate the long weekend the right way.
