The world's largest showcase of French cinema outside of France returns to Australia from 7 March to 25 April 2023.The 2023 Alliance Française French Film Festival will screen in Adelaide at Palace Nova East End and Prospect from 23 March to 19 April. In addition selected screenings will be held in Victor Harbor in the Victa Cinema on 3 and 10 April and for the first time in Port Pirie in the Northern Festival Centre March 24 to 26; Renmark in the Chaffey Theatre March 24 to 26; Whyalla in the Middleback Art Centre March 24, 31 and April 1 and in Mt Gambier in the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre March 31 to April 2.Academy Award Nominee and Emmy, Peabody and multiple AFI award-winning filmmaker Scott Hicks will once again be the South Australian Ambassador for the Festival to celebrate and discuss the profound impact of French cinema on his career personally and filmmaking more broadly.
