Artist panel with Tristan Chant, Gary Deirmendjian and Miguel Olmo, discussing the impact of technology on art.
Join Willoughby City Council's Curator Cassandra Hard Lawrie in conversation with Human in the Wire artists Tristan Chant, Gary Deirmendjian and Miguel Olmo. Rapid advancements in technology have changed the way we create, share and experience art. Innovations in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, augmented reality and 3D printing have enabled artists to reach audiences beyond the confines of the gallery space and to create immersive, highly engaging multi-disciplinary artworks. As art and technology have become more intertwined over the course of history, art has expanded beyond the boundaries of traditional practice. Its influence can be seen both practically and thematically, with the complex relationship between humans and technology creating compelling subject matter for artists to explore. This panel will discuss the impact of technology on art and how they each navigate the intersection of art and technology.
