Desert, Sea, Moon' honours cloth and slow-stitch: patience and simplicity through composition - both of which rebel against the use of unsustainable fibres and the fast pace at which our society functions.
The shapes remind us we are of this earth - not separate from it. They invoke natural forms found in landscapes, skies and waters - filled by slow stitches, patient repetition and rhythm.
Some pieces are embellished with shells, rocks and botanically dyed fabrics. In harnessing nature's offerings, the viewer's relationship with earth is renewed.
Conjuring something ancient 'Desert, Sea, Moon' instills feelings of reverence and delight.
Join M16 Artspace for the opening of 'Desert, Sea, Moon' alongside their latest exhibitions '[De] Constructed Landscapes' and 'Überlastung'.
