Join Kari Hall, our favourite up-cycling artist to create a cardboard sculpture to help build our collective 'Dream Street'.
If you got to re-design your street with a sustainable theme what would it include? A lime tree on the verge, a shared trampoline in the middle, a swap table for toys, plants and books, a borrowing library for tools, a wildlife corridor for birds and lizards, a Wet season water slide ….. it 's up to you. The more wilder the ideas the better.
Over two Sundays we invite you to make something out of cardboard, scissors, tape, paint and glue to contribute to our collective street.
We will be installing the sculptures as part of the Dream Street at Cafe De La Plage's Festival on Saturday 25th September.
This activity is suited to adults and children alike. Come along as a family and make your own house, garden, transport, costume or random, bizarre object out of cardboard. We will have some ideas and examples to help you get started.
There are two sessions that run over four hours. You can come and go as you wish. Join us for one or both sessions. We will store your work at DCA until our exhibition date.
This project is part of the Waste to Art program and is proudly presented by Environment Centre NT and Darwin Community Arts. Thank you to City of Darwin for supporting our activity.
