Making Time is a free workshop series for young people aged 12-21 featuring contemporary Australian artists.
Curated by the MCA Youth Committee these not-just-workshops are a safer space for young people to gather, make, play, question, share and deepen their understanding of contemporary art and the art world.
Join us for a special LGBTIQA+ inspired Making Time workshop ahead of the 2022 Mardi Gras Parade. Led by artist Kelly Dolly learn about queer history, design and activism whilst creating your own protest (or party) ready symbols to paint onto garments, placards and buttons. All art materials will be provided, however, if you wish to decorate an item of clothing please bring this along with you. The artist recommends black, white or plain coloured cotton t-shirts for best effect, but feel free to get creative and bring something out of the box!
This workshop is suitable for young people aged 12-21. Parent/guardian permission is required for persons under 18 years. Registration is essential.
