Music & Architecture is a program of carefully curated free concerts that celebrate Sydney's musicians and artists, and public spaces which accentuate some of the city's most architecturally significant office buildings.

Organic Electric, featuring renowned composers and performers Bree Van Reyk, Nick Wales, Veronique Serret, Deepchild and Lamorna Nightingale present a CBD lunchtime live soundtrack at 126 Phillip Street.

Set within the light-filled four-storey assembly of the Foster + Partners-designed office tower 126 Phillip, the building's grand public space created by the architects to contribute to the public life of the city provides a fitting stage for this special performance.

Organic Electric blur the lines between new classical and electronica. Featuring electric violins, flutes, marimba, percussion, and electronica, this collective of versatile musicians' straddle both the classical and contemporary music worlds, performing a fusion of their own compositions and remixes. Sound by Bill Vickers.

About Organic Electric

Bree van Reyk is a drummer, percussionist, composer and sound artist who makes unconventional and tradition-challenging performance works. Her music resides in the intersection between contemporary classical, indie-rock and performance art and is equally warm-hearted, celebratory, and focused on issues of equality.

Visceral, immersive and progressive, Nick Wales's electronic classical compositions are internationally sought after. From empowering beauty to magnetising dark passages, Wales's textural music has inspired creative leaders across contemporary dance, popular and classical music, film and theatre. Wales's name is synonymous with contemporary dance.

Véronique Serret has established herself as a versatile musician whose repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary art music, folk, rock and improvisation. She is committed to new works and regularly collaborates with Australia's composers. Véronique has a strong classical background and has worked extensively with Sydney Dance Company, the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Darwin Symphony Orchestra. Véronique is also an exponent of the 6-string violin paired with electronics.

Lamorna Nightingale is a freelance flautist, concert presenter, educator and publisher who is passionate about the future of art music in Australia. She has many years' experience working in the orchestral sector and is a core member of the new music group, Ensemble Offspring. Lamorna runs 'BackStage Music', a concert series in Sydney which fosters a culture for living music.

Australian-born, formerly Berlin-based Deepchild (aka Rick Bull) maintains a fierce reputation as one of the Antipodes' great electronic music exports. From his 2007 Berlin debut at the city's legendary Berghain/Panoramabar (the first of many performances there), to commanding thousands at EXIT Festival, Detroit Electronic Music Festival and more, a stunning international reputation precedes him. Tenacious, muscular DJ-ing and live performances are fortified by an expansive catalogue of releases and remixes on labels as diverse as Get Physical Music, BBE, Sleaze, Leisure System and Future Classic.

Experience this unique and free Rediscover Sydney event by booking a table for lunch at one of 126 Phillip Street's food and beverage venues, Mordeo Bistro & Bar or Mordeo Pasta & Panini Bar, or pick up a takeaway coffee and linger by the expansive linear water feature.
