Who's Lucky Jim?
Lucky Jim is a Canberra-based musician, storyteller and teacher specialising in music for early childhood and Primary-aged children and their families. He's been playing music in Canberra for over 20 years in bands such as Dubba Rukki, Bontes, Doctor Stovepipe and NYASH!
For the past 5 years, he has been touring for Musica Viva with the band Doctor Stovepipe playing music in schools around Australia. Lucky Jim has also worked as a music teacher for organisations such as Young Music Society, Music for Everyone and Musica Viva.
You can expect the highest quality of musicianship at a Lucky Jim show as he plays songs that cover styles from calypso to rockabilly. When he performs with his band, his Imaginary Friends, the energy and mayhem escalate.
Lucky Jim will perform a unique, curated event for Tree Week at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. His one-off show will feature forests of tree-themed tunes and activities.
