Yagan Square bring you a special event in celebration of National Reconciliation Week 2024.
Now More than Ever, brings to life vibrant local Indigenous market stalls; offering an authentic array of art, crafts, apparel, jewellery, gifts and traditional wellness products. Attendees will have the chance to join complimentary cultural tours guided by the esteemed Aboriginal guide Justin Martin where Justin will delve into the history and significance of Yagan Square, providing enriching insights. Tours will take place at 11am, 12noon and 1pm. No registrations are required and it's completely free to attend! Simply meet near the Digital Tower 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
The Digital Tower will host a visually captivating exhibit, featuring significant pieces from local Indigenous film producers. Enhancing the dynamic atmosphere of the event, artist Sharyn Egan will lead walk-up-and-weave sessions, volunteers from Reconciliation WA will be available to sell merchandise and attendees will enjoy the soulful melodies of Indigenous performer Lily Gogos and Nyrie Kickett. This one-day only activation invites everyone to engage in a community event, uniting to honour and celebrate Indigenous heritage and foster a deeper cultural appreciation.
