Meet Asahi Takahashi
Music and singing have been the air Asahi breathes since her early childhood. Growing up in Japan, her early years saw her performing in several children's choirs and ensembles, and starring in musicals and operas. Her love of performance prompted her to leave her family at the age of eight and tour Japan with the Tokyo Opera Company.
To further develop her career in music, Asahi moved to Sydney in 2007. She studied under Australia's best jazz musicians and teachers such as Kerrie Bidell, Sean Coffin and Jeremy Sawkins. She now works as a professional singer and performer based in Sydney, playing at leading venues such as Sydney Opera House, ANZ Stadium, The Basement, Foundry 616, Lazy Bones and many more.
Asahi also works as a session singer and has worked with many composers for short and feature films, TV and web commercials and original projects.
In 2017 Asahi wrote and released an album with her band, Five Coffees. The album, A Little Revolting, was rated 4/5 by Triple J producer Claire Mooney who commented, 'this is a quirky little gem and I love it'.
Asahi continues to express her love of singing and performing as a way of life through her ongoing musical performances in and around Sydney.
StudioRCC programs are for 18 years and over, any participants under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
