The annual Summer in the Park festival is set to be Boroondara's biggest yet, with free arts and entertainment every weekend of February and early March. The program features over 70 artists and 21 vibrant performances in the inner-East's iconic parks and gardens.

The Festival Hub in Maranoa Botanic Gardens kicks off on 1 Feb with a launch party, and everyone is welcome. With a festival program that features cabaret, comedy, classical music, and many musical genres in between, the launch event will give the public a taste of the highlights.

The Maranoa Botanical Gardens pop up festival Hub will host Melbourne comedy favourite Jude Perl, First Nations artist Pirritu, a Beatles singalong afternoon, and internationally-recognised Bollywood dance troupe Jhoom.

Headline acts include vocalist-violinist, jazz and cabaret extraordinaire Fem Belling who will feature across several shows during the festival, including a special Valentine's Day event which will make Maranoa Botanical Gardens the most romantic place to be on 14 Feb.

The Main Stage series offers free music, movies, and community vibes at St James Park in Hawthorn, Riversdale Park in Camberwell and Canterbury Gardens in Canterbury over February and into March.

Punters can pack a picnic, or explore options offered by local traders.

Highlights include a Youth Takeover concert, live jazz from industry stalwarts Orlando Combo, a Valentine's Day screening of Mamma Mia, and the perennial festival favourite, Opera in the Park. Dvořák's opera Rusalka (often referred to as the ‘darker story of the Little Mermaid') ends the festival on a high note.

This accessible and inclusive festival is an opportunity for the community to gather at a series of culturally-rich occasions. No tickets or reservations necessary—just bring a picnic rug and join the fun!
