Psycon presents Tangents + Cone of Confusion + Chloe Kim (solo drums) at Lazybones Lounge.

The evening will bring to your ears the music of local artists with a nice blend of musical genres: a bit of experimental stuff here, a bit of psych there, a pinch of ambient, jazz, improvised music and everything in between…

$30 tickets include a pizza of your choice (gluten free and vegan options available).

Get yourself a ticket as we expect this show to be sold-out! Doors open at 7pm. Kids welcome with a responsible adult.

About Tangents

Tangents formed in Sydney in 2010 and released their debut album 'I' in 2013, a recording of their first-ever meeting and live show. Follow-up albums Stateless (2016) and New Bodies (2018), and linked singles and EPs, explored a style of post-produced live improvisation that marked out the group's distinct blend of electronic, jazz, rock and new music-inspired styles. Amidst other international recognition, New Bodies was nominated for the Australian Music Prize in 2018. Their latest release Timeslips continues their studio recording journey after a detour into intensive live performance (idiosyncratically captured in a cramped radio studio on the Risk Reaps Reward EP) and a major digital art installation, Spiral, at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. The record continues their relationship with New York label Temporary Residence through the challenges of music production in the Covid-19 era. Tangents are Ollie Bown, Evan Dorrian, Peter Hollo and Adrian Lim-Klumpes. Sia Ahmad is a former member whose work continues through the Timeslips production period.

About Cone of Confusion

Cone of Confusion is a Sydney-based group of musicians from different cultural and musical background. Gathering knowledge from personal experience and individual influences, this project blends musical curiosity through improvisation. The unusual combination of lead of clarinet, saxophone and vibraphone, along with a strong rhythm section, yields music that is captivating and soulful. Experimental, creative, and theatrical, this music takes prog and jazz rock to another level.

'Listen with deep awareness, the system has turned irreversibly corrupt. Not knowing where it is leading us to, the inevitable emancipation has begun.'
