Meet the majestic Te Wheke face to face
Hit the harbour for an up-close encounter with Te Wheke-a-Muturangi: The Adversary. Created by the multi-disciplinary Māori artist Lisa Reihana and made from more than 1000 pieces, the floating, majestic Te Wheke-a-Muturangi sculpture will take up residence in Watermans Cove, gently animated by harbour breezes and shifting currents, bathed in sunlight and moonglow.
Darling Harbour Explorer, Sydney Festival Special: Sea Kayaking Tour - 1 hour, 30 minutes
Explore Darling Harbour and learn about the beautiful vessels of the Australian National Maritime Museum. Be guided out onto the 'working' harbour and experience Sydney from a completely new perspective, including an up-close visit to the magnificent Māori octopus, Te Wheke. Tours start at the HMAS Vampire Pavilion on the marina, Australian National Maritime Museum, Darling Harbour - and depart regularly throughout the day.
