Let's hear it for hope and humanity in The Construct's poignant and playful mix-up of circus and contemporary dance, created in direct response to the effects of living in lockdown.
Directed by acclaimed Circus Monoxide Artistic Director, Zebastian Hunter, and marking the birth of a new professional performance troupe, The Construct reflects who we are within our new normal and salutes the healing power of arts and culture in everyday life.
Flying, tumbling and contorting across a 3m x 3m cube sculpture madelatest health advice from welded steel, aXis's elite acrobatic artists interweave stories of uncertain and challenging times to Ian Morehead's stirring contemporary reimagining of a neo-classical score by Judith Stubbs. Known for performance work with Cirque Du Soleil, Circus Oz, Flying Fruit Fly Circus and Casus, these movement artists craft a visual salute to personal strength, resilience and engagement.
