This showcased event has concluded.
Enjoy two symphonic showstoppers as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performs side-by-side with the next generation of orchestral musicians of the Melbourne Youth Orchestra.
Ravel's Boléro, instantly recognisable thanks to its distinct rhythm, is the perfect showcase as it builds throughout, adding all the instruments and colours of the orchestra as it goes.
Then, four epic movements from Holst's The Planets: the thrilling Mars, the sublime Venus, the playful Mercury, and ending with the infinitely cheerful Jupiter. Conducted by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's new Chief Conductor Jaime Martín.
