The Travelling Film Festival has been bringing the best of screen to regional Australia since David Stratton founded it in 1974. For the first time ever, they are thrilled to bring the Festival to Macquarie Park. Showcasing a curated program of festival favourites of this year's Sydney Film Festival and award-winning titles from around the world, they are here to celebrate storytelling through cinema in Macquarie Park for many years to come!
Opening the Festival is 2022 Winner of the Audience Award at Sydney Film Festival, Keep Stepping, in which director Luke Cornish spent years following two female protagonists Patricia and Gabi, as they compete in Australia's biggest street dance competition. Special guest director Luke Cornish will be joining the Festival at Macquarie Park for a post-screening question and answer!
Highlights of the program include BROKER, starring Cannes Best Actor winner Song Kang-ho (Parasite, 2019) in a delightful tender Korean drama by Kore-eda Hirokazu (Shoplifters, 2018); The Humans, a stylish and cinematic piece of storytelling by writer-director Stephen Karam adapted from his Tony-Award winning play; and an absorbing documentary set in Hunan province in China, Hidden Letters reveals the centuries-old secret written langugage connecting two modern Chinese women together.
