Do you want to learn how to create and print your very own 3D design?
You'll be guided to create a 3D design using open-source software including Tinkercad and Cura in our fully equipped makerspace. Our experienced facilitators will be on hand to show you the ropes and discuss your ideas.
You can bring a simple idea for your 3D model or suggest a project you'd like to explore in the class. If you're not sure what to make, we'll work with you to design a starter project.
You can also share ideas, explore your learnings and collaborate with other participants to explore free online resources for 3D design such as Instructibles and Thingiverse.
This fun maker session is specifically designed for teens to explore the makerspace and be introduced to 3D printing in a workshop environment.
What you'll learn:
Basic 3D design using Tinkercad
Preparing your files for 3D printing in Cura
Basic 3D printing skills with the Ultimaker S3
What you'll take home:
A 3D printed design, limited to a print time of 2 hours
You can collect your 3D print from the level 1 library loans desk 1 week after the workshop
