A starry-eyed adventure for the young and young at heart is flying into The Blue Room Theatre next School Holidays. From the minds and hearts of emerging Boorloo-based dance makers, Estelle Brown and Izzy Leclezio (Flying Bicycle Collective), comes a tender and curious exploration of identity and belonging. In partnership with AWESOME International Arts Festival For Bright Young Things, The Blue Room Theatre is bringing performance for young audiences to its annual program for the first time. Exploring an imaginative mix of contemporary dance and shadow puppetry, "Dreams of a Lonely Planet" is an escape through the blanket fort into surreal worlds where bicycles can fly us towards new adventures. Brown and Leclezio have embraced their love for abstract storytelling to devise a show that both children and adults can understand from their own unique perspectives. "We never set out to mimic children, to talk at them or to even try to understand their world directly. It was a natural journey to find ourselves inside of a childlike lens when imagining and creating collaboratively. We have found that making work for young audiences is in fact incredibly layered and reveals just as much to our adult selves." Since their debut at FRINGE World 2022, Flying Bicycle Collective has received exemplary praise, described as "poetic and playful" (Fringefeed), "a place of rapturous, wide-eyed wonder" (Seesaw Magazine). This is a once in a lifetime adventure you'll want to experience for yourself. See new events on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxqKJcD5y33GNFEcVDXxjsw/video
