The MCA is turning the big 3-0 on Thursday 11 November and we'd like to celebrate with you.
We're kicking off our birthday celebrations at 10am with a Welcome to Country, smoking ceremony, and performance by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance group Koomurri on Tallawoladah lawn in front of the MCA.
Thanks to the support of Major Partner Telstra, the MCA's summer exhibition Doug Aitken: New Era will be open to the public for FREE* all day until 9pm. This continues Telstra's generous 21-year tradition of support which first enabled free entry to the Museum in 2000.
We'll have free ARTplay sessions on the lawn that morning, spotlight talks and guided tours of MCA Collection: Perspectives on place throughout the day, and in the evening, the Lloyd Rees Memorial event will look at how architecture aligns with Country and its values.
Stop by the MCA Cafe for a free sweet surprise (limited stock) and toast the MCA with a Birthday Bellini for $6.
