An OzAsia Festival favourite, this day of concerts - and an accompanying interactive workshop - is loved by families and music enthusiasts alike, and is a great way to celebrate Chinese culture and the Chinese community in South Australia. Chinese Classics ELDER HALL | 2:30PM Duration: 75mins Experience the vivid colour, beauty, and vitality of Chinese music in a concert that celebrates one of the world's greatest musical traditions. Popular Chinese classics and new works will be brought to life by the expressive sounds of the erhu, the ethereal tones of the guzheng, the clash of cymbals and drums, Western instruments, and an array of local artists. New Sounds of China ELDER HALL | 7PM Duration: 60mins Hear exciting new works featuring traditional Chinese instruments in modern contexts, mixed with Western instruments, laptops, and contemporary sounds. Preformed by Silk Strings, Zhao Liang, Stephen Whittington, and other distinguished local musicians, this concert promises to be an exciting addition to Chinese Music Day.
