The Sydney Is Beautiful competition was established to celebrate good urbanism that promotes human flourishing and beautiful, enduring development that is highly environmentally sustainable. As the major cities in Australia grow and the need for housing and infrastructure becomes more pressing, it is essential that decision-makers do not forget the need for a humane built environment that prioritises health, wellbeing and relationships. The gallery exhibition will be open to the public on Wednesday 1 February from 9 am to 12 pm at the Glebe Town Hall in the Main Hall and Southern Hall. The Public Exhibition will showcase the entries from international and local architects and urbanists in a gallery format, and the winners of the prizes (Professional Prize, Student Prize, Youth Prize and other commendations) as selected by the judges. Street Level Australia is a not-for-profit membership and advocacy organisation founded in 2021. Street Level is a group of local people and design professionals interested in creating a more beautiful, enduring built environment.
